😯 Breakfast is the most important meal of the day not to mess up…
I remember back when I was in grade school, my mother would never allow me to head out in the morning without eating “the most important meal of the day”: Breakfast. 🥞
We literally would not leave the house until I ate a carbohydrate rich meal. Sometimes I negotiated with her by telling her I’ll take my food with me and eat it in the car on the way to school. It worked… sometimes. 😝
Mother may know best about some things, but when she tells you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it turns out she is WRONG. Changing the way you eat breakfast can actually be one of the most profoundly powerful strategies you can have to optimize your health. 🙌
The truth of the matter is, breakfast the dumbest meal of the day. Do you think our hunter and gatherer ancestors climbed out of their cave to feast on bagels, oatmeal, cereal and orange juice. Of course not. 🤦♂️
🤔 If you look at our hunger hormone Ghrelin, it is lowest at 9:00am in the morning.
This just proves that we are hardwired for the old school. 💯
But Ben, “How can this be true? I’m starving when I wake up in the morning!” This is because you are not metabolically fit. You have taught your body to be a sugar burner. Being a sugar burner is not perfect health. Perfect Health is metabolic flexibility. 🤜🤛
Here’s another revolt I get. “Ben, don’t I need to fuel myself up for the day?” No, you do not. This is why you have body fat! Your energy doesn’t come from breakfast, sorry to break it to you. It actually takes 12-16 hours just to process that meal. Your energy comes from healthy hormones and cells. 🕺💃
What are the benefits of skipping breakfast and practicing fasting? More weight loss and increased energy levels.
Should I eat breakfast? It depends on your goals. If you eat breakfast stick with fat protein and fiber.
Are whole grains healthy for you?
The problem with breakfast is that most people have been tricked by mainstream media and/or outdated information. Most people are having their orange juice, cereal, granola, bagels, yogurt, muffins, etc. 🥞🥯🍞🥖🍩
If your goal is perfect health and fat loss this needs to stop right now. When you start your day with a carbohydrate and sugar rich meal you are setting yourself up for dietary disaster. 😫
Sure, you may feel temporarily satisfied and have some energy but make no mistake about it, you will soon crash. That spike you received from your carb heavy meal will drop like the stock market in 2008. This means your energy levels go down, and your cravings go up. A vicious cycle, isn’t it? 🤬
